Since it first began providing mobile dental services in 2003, HealthReach has steadily expanded its services. In 2004, HRCC purchased clinic and office space in Mooresville, NC, began offering medical and chiropractic care, and established an in-house dental facility.
In 2005, HealthReach created a pharmaceutical program; acquired professional liability coverage under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA); hired a full time Executive Director, a part-time Clinic Coordinator and a part-time Physicians Assistant; and established a special clinic for individuals with chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, etc.).
In 2007 the clinic added a part-time Dental Services Coordinator and part-time Pharmacists. A part-time Administrative Assistant was also added to enroll patients in the Patient Assistance Programs (Also known as PAP, which is the generic term for programs created by pharmaceutical companies to give free prescription drugs to low-income patients.).
In 2008 the clinic expanded its hours of operation and added a specialty clinic for patients with gastro-intestinal problems.
Although HealthReach no longer offers a dental program it has continued to expand other services it provides and the number of individuals it serves. HealthReach currently employs a staff of four full-time and five part-time professionals to serve its patient base, supplemented and supported by volunteers.
The clinic is largely staffed by volunteers! Each year professionals from medical, chiropractic, and pharmacy fields, translators, individuals with business and administrative support skills, students, and ordinary citizens donate thousands of hours of their time to our cause. Without the active involvement of these volunteers HealthReach Community Clinic would not exist.
